How a V8 Driving Experience Can Change Your Life
Sometimes you’ll hear drivers claim that they learn something new every day. There really are things to learn about the business every day. You’ll come across all kinds of driving experiences often. My driver trainer once told me that if you make a mistake when driving a truck, such as miss a turn, overshoot the driveway or whatever, that it will cost at least 10 minutes. That statement is being very kind because I have made mistakes that have taken quite a bit longer. Trucks cannot turn on a dime.
Picture driving in a big city and the street sign with the street name is missing. So you miss your turn and the next problem is that the only way to go takes you right into a 12’6″ bridge and you are 13’6″. What are you going to do? It happens and you are not going to be a happy camper when it does. The drivers that you will inconvenience are not patient nor are they kind. You’re just a stupid truck driver.
Directions from your dispatcher may bad. You have to compensate and figure out how you will handle the situation. Experience is going to be very helpful. Arriving at your destination a little early will help avoid missing your appointment, if you make a mistake somewhere along the line. There are a few companies that won’t allow you on the lot until shortly before your scheduled time, but there are a few that just won’t allow you in and they know who they are. (Not nice)
Everyone has a different understanding and abilities so tesla accessories to answer the question of, when do you have enough driving experience? Really is something that only you will really know for sure. Talk to others and learn what you can from more experienced drivers.
Something that I do a lot of when the weather is good is I will try many State and US highways just to see if it will save time and look at the scenery and also determine if it may make a good secondary choice when planning a route. I am more adventurous in the Western States than in the Eastern States. There are too many small roads and restricted roads in the East. Driving can be a very satisfying and rewarding job. Experiences will make it easier to deal with the conditions that you are bound to run into during your driving career.
I have been truck over the road for the past 11+ years. I have drove as a company driver an owner operator and even attended a brokers school. I hope that you learned a little more about the trucking industry.
